Because of the fast growth of the young seedlings Dumka HS is very competitive. So the gaps between the rows are closed early and consequently the development of weed in the shade of the corn plants is suppressed.

Dumka grows and does not care much about water supply
Dumka HS shows a good adaption to drought. Therefore it already provides good yield in areas with 550 l rainfall per year. But also in region with higher water supply like northern Westphalia where I live (700 – 800 l rainfall per year) Dumka HS grows well and brings high yields. So, its modesty is one of Dumka HS’s various talents.

Stable and strong
The risk of damage to your corn crop through wind or storm is still given. Futhermore so-called multi-cell storms occur more often according to statistics. To avoid damage to your crop you need stable und resistant plants to brave storms.
At this point Dumka HS is able to play out another trump. It develops strong and massive shoots with sessile cobs which reduces the risk of losses through breaking or lodging. So, Dumka HS is the right choice for regions threatened by storm and heavy rainfall.

Independence through Dumka
Dumka is corn variety that ripes middle-early. In addition Dumka HS is a so-called staygreen genotype which stays alive and healthy even after ripening of the grain (FAO cob: 230; FAO shoot: 240). So it keeps its good suitability for the production of biogas or silage for a long period. This emphasizes the versatility of this genotype. At the moment of harvest Dumka HS provides the possibility of several usages for corn silage, corn grain or as substrate for biogas plants. So right bevor harvest you can still decide what to use your DumkaHS for. This offers flexibility to a high degree.

Earn biomass high in dry matter and starch content
High yield with a great dry matter content. That’s what you expect of a corn crop. A high fodder quality or high gas yields can also be important. With its considerable growth Dumka HS shows yields up to 23,8 t DM/ha*. In inofficial experiments even 27,2 t DM/ha. The starch content is also remarkable, it reaches up to 37,9 % (year befor 40,4%).
Therefore Dumka HS symbolizes good fodder as corn silage and high gas yields beyond 300 nl/kg oDM methane.
